7:00 PM

Please join us on April 6 at 7pm as we welcome Dr. Martin Nekola to discuss the political distress growing in Europe, his research into the current events that contribute to the distress, and what that means for us in Central Illinois. This event will be held at the Bradley University Student Center, Marty Theater, located at 915 N Elmwood Ave, Peoria and via Zoom.

The Rise of Populism in Europe: The Impact of Globalization, Covid, and the War in Ukraine with Martin Nekola

Fears of authoritarian leaders, a growing number of ultra-right and ultra-left groups, and the strains on the global economy all contribute to the political distress growing in Europe. Throw in the continuing impact of the Covid pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and the rise of populism as it becomes more popular across the continent. Dr. Martin Nekola has researched these trends for several years and brings his findings to us, including how this impacts us in Central Illinois.

Registration required for this event. The cost for members is only $5.00, non-members $10.00, and students (with valid ID) are free.
