Ways to Help Ukraine

The invasion of Ukraine by Russia has sparked heartfelt togetherness from other parts of the world as we watch history unfold. Ukraine needs help, and many are willing to help but not many know what they can do. This is merely a compiled list to help cut down your effort in researching. Here is a list of credible ways YOU can help from home:

  • The World Central Kitchen is feeding Ukrainian refugees in Poland and expanding to provide food to non-combat areas of western Ukraine and elsewhere. This initiative, started by Celebrity Chef Jose Anderson, helps take care of the most basic needs of people in disastrous and vulnerable situations. You can donate directly on their website or even host a fundraiser to raise money for WCK!
  • Polish American Medical Society is providing a wide variety of medical as well as humanitarian needs for Ukraine evacuees who now reside in Poland. This Chicago-based organization not only just supported its 75th anniversary of health care needs for U.S. citizens but is now helping Ukrainians in Poland. “Together, we can help the people of Ukraine affected by this crisis.” To learn more about PAMAS and its mission and origin, click here, and the Ukraine Crisis donation form is available here
  • Ukrainian Congress Committee of America Illinois Division Humanitarian Effort is specifically finding donations in the Illinois area. Learn more here. Want to know about more ways to help specifically here in Illinois? Click here
  • Ukrainian World Congress is another online donation straight to helping Ukraine during this world conflict.
  • Razom for Ukraine is an organization that grew out of the Revolution of Dignity in 2014 among people around the world who wished to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. The name Razom means “together” in Ukrainian, and today they are supporting a wide variety of needs for the evacuees as well as those who remain in Ukraine. To learn more/Donate, click here.
  • National Bank of Ukraine Special Account for Humanitarian Donations is a fundraising account specifically made for struggles in Ukraine with money donated to this account being used for: food and shelter for refugees, clothing, shoes, and medicine for the refugees, as well as other financial aid. To learn more or donate, go here.
  • Helmets and Armory Vests for Ukraine is exactly as it sounds! It is a Facebook charity (clicking the name will send you to it) looking for donations to help purchase military gear for those in Ukraine to help their cause.
  • Blue Yellow for Ukraine supports the Blue Yellow NGO that has been in support of Ukraine’s resistance since 2014. This email will serve as a connection to find out more about protests and other interesting campaigns and more.

Any form of help lent to Ukraine is worth it, whether you share a personal one-time donation or recurring amounts or whether you choose to donate or simply just spread awareness to the cause, it is appreciated. We thank you for any support you provide as well as your interest and thoughtfulness in international affairs.
