It fell to my lot to orient our foreign policy during the period of bewilderingly rapid changes wherein one kind of world was ushered out and another kind ushered in.

Foreign policy will require a strategic agility that, whenever possible, gets ahead of problems, strengthens US security and alliances, and promotes American interests and credibility.

Founders Circle

The Founders Circle has been established to encourage contributions to assure the long term financial sustainability of PAWAC; and to honor both those citizens who are credited with founding PAWAC and select individuals whose donation of time, talent and treasure since the founding deserve special recognition.

There are three avenues for admission to the Founders Circle.

  1. Original Founders The original incorporators of PAWAC, persons who helped with the early conferences that gave rise to PAWAC and others that had involvement with PAWAC prior to 1975 shall be admitted, provided that for anyone who was not an original incorporator to be admitted pursuant to this avenue, it is necessary that their contribution to PAWAC was meaningful, not casual, and extended over a period of three or more years. Monetary contributions from those admitted pursuant to this avenue or from their family members, are welcomed, but not required. These persons are admitted solely by reason of their significant contributions during the early years.
  2. Sustaining Founders are individual persons who both give written notice of their interest in joining the Founders Circle and contribute at least $5,000 per individual within a period of no more than three years. Sustaining Founders may also include members or past members of PAWAC who are nominated by someone else, including a spouse or partner, to become a member of the Founders’ Circle because of extraordinary contributions to PAWAC over a sustained period of time, provided the nominator contributes at least $5,000 per individual within a period of no more than three years.
  3. Honorary Founders are members or past members of PAWAC who are nominated by someone else to become members of the Founders Circle because of extraordinary contributions to PAWAC over a sustained period of time, provided one or more sponsors contribute at least $1,000 for each individual in honor of that nominee and provided further the PAWAC Board determines that the nominee’s contribution warrants the honor. No more than three persons a year may be admitted to the Founders Circle pursuant to the third avenue identified above. Nor may the nominee be sponsored by the nominee’s spouse or partner.
