The Peoria Area World Affairs Council is excited to announce the hiring of its next Executive Director - Erin Franken!
Erin Franken is an educator and international engagement professional whose career has spanned higher education and cross-cultural communication. She has taught and led academic initiatives at Illinois State University, Western Illinois University, Illinois Central College where she spearheaded fostering international collaboration and the creation of diverse learning communities. Additionally she has served as a U.S. Department of State English Language Fellow in Turkey, working in partnership with Georgetown University and the University of Gaziantep.
We are certainly excited to welcome Erin to the Peoria Area World Affairs Council and the World Affairs Councils of America network!
Erin succeeds Angela Weck, who is retiring from the Executive Director position after voluteering for ov 30+ years in countless roles for PAWAC & WACA.
