July 2, 2025 - Congratulations to our very own Executive Director, Angela Weck, on being named to the National Board of Directors for the World Affairs Councils of America!
In addition to her new appointment, Angela will continue serving as Executive Director for the Peoria Area World Affairs Council where she has served for a combined 22 years since 2000. She most recently resumed her role as Executive Director in 2018.
Outside of her roles with PAWAC & WACA, Angela teaches as Affiliate Faculty for the Department of Political Science & International Studies at Bradley University.
Angela will be joining the WACA National Board alongside Chidi Blyden, Col. Susan Seaman Bore (ret.), & former Ambassador Alina Romanowski, who will also be joining the Board.
Outgoing National Board members include Mimi Gregory, Mimi Burke, & Maryanne Maldonado.
It is no secret to those of us here in Central Illinois the impact that Angela has had on the Peoria Area World Affairs Council. We congratulate her and wish her & her fellow colleagues the best of luck as they take on these new roles!
