Results from the 15th Annual International Scholastic Bowl

Dunlap wins International Scholastic Bowl

Dunlap High School won first place recently at the 15th annual International Scholastic Bowl sponsored by Peoria Area World Affairs Council.

More than 175 students representing 16 schools participated in the event. Top finishers won cash prizes ranging from $400 for the first-place team to $100 to the fourth-place team.

Richwoods High School took second place; Streator Township High School, third; and LaSalle-Peru High School, fourth.

Highest individual scorers in the first five rounds were selected for the All-Tournament Team, which will compete at the Academic World Quest competition in Washington, D.C. in 2017.

The team includes Ethan Elarton, East Peoria Community High School; Nolan Butler, Richwoods; Owen Bruneau, Streator Township; Mike Powers, Newman Central Catholic High School and Max Williams, LaSalle-Peru.
